About Me

.. My beautiful bride of 12+ years and I have 4 of the most adorable kids on this planet...I'm not at all biased, feel free to check out the pictures in my photo albums to see for yourself! :)

In 2006 I founded the Illinois BBQ Society to "Unite BBQ Enthusiasts in Search of Excellent 'Que". I'm not talking about fast cooking your wieners on a gas grill, but more about the true 'Low & Slow' method of true Southern-Style, Pit Fired Barbeque. ILBBQS must've filled a void...it didn't take long to get to where we are today...members in 8 States & 3 Countries!

Around the same time, I formed my killer, off-the-hook, rock-your-socks, Slap Ya' Mama Good BBQ Catering and Competition Crew. We're now in full swing and have only a few sponsorship spots available for the 2008 contest season. If you'd like to have some of the most amazing BBQ served up at your next get-together, or would like to find out more about an out-of-the-box sponsorship of our Competition Crew,

Rhino's Road Trip - Episode 1

In a nutshell...here we go...

My Interests

I like lots of 'in' things...BBQin', Campin', Cookin', Skiin', Roller Skatin', Surfin' the 'net, Makin' People Smile, Golfin', Dancin', or Just Plain Chillin'.

I'd like to meet:

My biological father, Abraham Lincoln, Steven Wright, Anonymous, and anyone who enjoys the smoky goodness of true 'Southern Style' barbeque.

Some of my pics:

what old people do for fun

Music:

So much music, so little time and space. A few of my favorites include: Blues Traveler, Bush, Harry Connick, Jr., Faith Hill, Enya, Styx, Queen, Dr. Hook, Bob Seger, Hello Dave , Smashing Pumpkins, Norah Jones, The Cramps, Lynard Skynard, Hayseed Dixie, Counting Crows, and way to many '80s 'hair' bands to list...I'm just weird that way. :)

Movies:

Cool Hand Luke, Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou, Raising Arizona, Fight Club, and other 'dark humor' type movies...to name a few. On the other hand, I also like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (with James Stewart), and almost every Disney movie I have seen (especially the older ones), and classics like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (and yes, I even like the re-make), Blazing Saddles, Moulin Rouge, and Cry Baby...a wide range there, but I like a lot of different things.

Television:

Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, Heroes, Desperate Housewives, and Lost...I would REALLY like to be on Amazing Race with my best bud, Sgt. Shone.

Books:

I like a lot of Stephan King's work but find myself reading trade pubs, business books, and cookbooks more than anything.

Heroes:

There are a number of people who have played a major role in the shaping of my life. None of them would consider themselves 'heroes', but then again I don't know of any true heroes who would. Without mentioning too many names, here are some of the most important to me: Gma, DCR, JWR, MH, CHCA, CJD, CBD, PJR, SJR, ECR, BMR, Princess, Bear, Jumer DeClawed, and Natalie Marie.
