FOR MY BUDDY GAYLUND! IM PRAYING FOR YOU BUD!!Our team began 4 years ago, when I say "our team" I am talking about myself and my son, Michael. I actually went to a cook- off and judged and thought "Heck I cook Q too. Why not give it a try" so thats what I/we did. My cook team name comes from my son. He's the "Little Spit" in the name, and he is ALWAYS at my cooks. When it comes to cooking he is the only one who knows ALL of my secrets, and someday he will be doing all of the cooking and I'll just be there to help. We love cooking together and even if we dont win we love eating our own food! In the last couple of years I've lost 2 of my biggest supporters the first was my Mother in Law she was a great supporter and always encouraged me to try new ways and things to cook. She died in 2006 and is greatly missed. The other was my Father who always tried to help with cooking even though he didnt understand my facination with Competition cooking still encouraged me to try my best. My Sister and her husband found him in 2007 deceased in his apartment of an apparent heart attack. He was actually going to help me for the first time the weekend after they found him. I miss him deeply because even though he was a pain in my ass alot of the time, he wasn't only my Dad he was my friend. Love Ya Dad, and say Hi to Mom! All of the cook-offs we do are being done in Loving memory of these 2 influences. We have made alot of friends along the way, just a few of our best friends are, Big Ron, South of the Border, and Yeah I Do Cookin Crew. I will actually start cooking with Yeah I Do in May in Galveston at the Yagas cook- off, come on out and say Hi!!
