About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Hello from Mando Island - Freiburg - in the Southwest of Germany.
Inspired by the fantastic PC game "The secret of Monkey Island" I have created "Mando Island" - my private homepage about mandolin, bluegrass and other stuff, that interests me.
The homepage is mainly in German, but a part of the pages is also available in English (if the language settings are set to English in your browser)
Years ago I played in many different mandolin orchestras in Germany (also called Zupforchester), later I conducted several orchestras. The I started playing folk and bluegrass on the mandolin and composing my own pieces.
I am an active member of the Mandolincafe Message Board.
Currently I am very interested in Choro music and jazz.

My Interests

Mandolin in all aspects; bluegrass; composing new and interesting pieces for the mandolin; web design - working on my homepage www.mandoisland.de and find interesting things in the internet; reading; cross-stitching (see my big cross-stitch picture with instruments);
