Ian Cheshire aka Kube 72 began mixing in 1996. He was influenced by the big techno DJ's like Carl Cox, Jeff Mills and Derrick May. Enjoying being behind the decks at parties and at home he developed his skills by running his own night called Freeze at Imperial Gardens, London. From that moment on he decided that he wanted to play more but not just in clubs but also at festivals. He managed this when he played at the Lizard Festival in Goonhilly in 99 with artists like Green Velvet and Derrick Carter. Soon after this he then went on to play at the Newquay Surfing Championship and Big Bear Mountains Snowboard Competition in the USA. Kube 72 has played alongside a lot of the big names DJ's like Carl Cox, Dave Clarke, Joey Beltram, DJ Rush, Claude Young, Technasia, Gayle San, Joris Voorn, Pascal Feos, Neil Landstrumm, La.di.da, Louis Osboune, Chris Finke, Codex & Flexor and many many more. In May 2003 and 2004 he embarked on the Detroit Impression Tour with Taurus which took them on a total of 90 dates starting in Detroit for the Movement Festival after Parties. After that they then went to the UK and also played on Groovetech Radio and then gigs in Germany and Poland. In 2005 he not only played at a Tsunami Benefit Gig at Subsoil, The West Cost Tent at Glastonbury alongside artist like Stereo MC’s and Ellen Alien but he was also asked to play in the UK on Its not Over Tresor Tour alongside Scan 7, Colin Dale and Andrea Parker He has a residency at the Triebwerk Club in Dresden, East Germany and has so far had three releases. First one on Media Records is a remix of DJ Scarecrow’s Zwielicht. Second one called "Break my Back" on Tekknik Exprimental Records the Seventy EP which also featured a remix from Chris Finke of Split . Third is called “Meus Prosapia” and was released on Tekkxp Records and has the track “Kubanic” has been played by Carl Cox on his Global Show, Danny Tenaglia, Claude Young, MARCO V, Boriquez Tribez, Judge Jules, Mark EG, Bryant Baker, Clodagh and Agent Greg on his Kiss FM show in Greece. The next EP in line is called Light & Shade and is currently being played by Carl Cox and Jon Rundell and now features two remixes, one by Kube 72 himself and one by the Tattoo Detectives. Kube 72 has a unique style of blending techno from all corners of the world which has helped him to play alongside DJ's like Carl Cox, Rush and Claude Young and at the clubs such as Tresor and at festivals like Glastonbury, Liberty One, Love Weekend/Berlin.
