Terry Mitchell Profile:
Terry Mitchell first caught the DJing bug around 1988, having been a
dedicated follower of electro, hip hop and later the developments in early
House, Acid House and Techno.By 1992 his talents for mixing, scratching, fazing and cutting beats were
noticed and he began a professional career as TNT and later The Droid at
nights like the Move parties and The Wag Club in London. Work continued
when he joined Innocence FM, a pirate station with spinning partner, DJ
Hardcore. Their Hardcore & The Droid shows were hugely successful and
guest spots at large rave events like Evolution followed. In '93 Innocence
ended but Terry was soon back on the airwaves with Chillin FM until Winter
95.Spinning a mix of jackin, funky Techno, Chicago House & full-on club
Techno, Terry has always honed his sets to suit the night, unleashing
blistering three deck sets upon an unsuspecting public. Guest spots
include four hour sets at Fabric, The End, Carl Cox's Ultimate B.A.S.E.;
also regular visits to Scotland, Wales, Europe, Asia, Macedonia and South
America alongside DJs such as Derrick May, Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Claude
Young, Ben Sims and many more. Not content with just DJing, he was also part of the original promotion
teams behind Hardware at Prohibition & Club 414 (both London), Analogue
City which still runs today and The Electric Underground which catered for
Terry's own unique vision of the House / Techno mix. He currently still
holds residencies with Analogue City and Eurobeat 2000. 2002 saw the
launch of System - Marco Carola's weekly techno venture at London's
Propaganda. Terry Mitchell holds a residency there every Thursday,
alongside Marco and Pure Plastic's Mark Broom, plus a plethora of
intenational guests from the global techno world.System club has since toured the world guesting at venues in Japan,
Brazil, Macedonia, Germany as well as wales and Scotland.Current and forthcoming projects include remixes for Dj Rush, Lester
Fitzpatrick, Mark Broom, Mark Williams as well as forthcoming releases on
Native, Primal Force and of course Dark House Music. His last ep has
received Radio and Club plays from Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Rolando, Ben
Sims, Mark Broom and many more. Rolando has also licensed this for his new
mix CD for London superclub Fabric. Also, a new concept for internet
