They were both spinning vinyl since 1992 in various bars and clubs in Ioannina (Greece) as residents or guest djs, when in the year 2001 they decided to join forces and form the ''Spin Sound '' project in order to present what they understood as underground dance music. Being primarily influenced by the early American house scene and later on by the English old scool breakbeat sound culture, Stand & Walter moved on into exploring further more sounds.
Stand & Walter began their colaboration in order to provide a different aspect of the music spectrum concerning the underground dance music, mainly motivated by their need to create a different night life environment in the city of Ioannina. The ''Spin Sound'' project led them to bar Stoa where they were residents from 2001 until 2006, playing back to back the sounds that were considered at the time as too experimental for the dance floor, as an alternative suggestion for friends and everyone who wanted to share the need for any unusual sound product!
Soon the ''Spin Sound'' parties represented a broader community, involved with dance music, which promoted and supported the two dj's, who still insist as true record culture fans, to use vinyl as their prefered media of sound reproduction.
While at bar Stoa Stand &Walter decided to explore their musical boundaries searcing the limits of their aesthetics in sound, by separately creating projects with great success such as the '' Easy Mondays'' nights (Stand- ambient soft trippy electronica) the ''Electronic house'' nights (Walter- dub house fusion) the '' Seems like jazz fusion'' parties at bar Lounge (Walter with dj Benek) and the ''Electro pop defence'' (Walter & guests) parties. Those projects were direct invitations to several local national djs and video artists, who supported the underground dance attitude of Stand & Walter like The Afterguest, Stathis, Diamantis (Nova recs) dj Arntz, Dans mon salon(Loopsoop) to name a few.
The ''Spin Sound'' project is undoubtably the most long lasting party in their city and the sound of their set has traveled to many bars in Ioannina (Lounge bar, Vanilia club, bar Lemon, La casa club) as well as in other cities in Greece such as Preveza ( Nicopolis), Thessaloniki (bar Elvis, bar Zenit) and Leukada (Copla).
Currently Dj Stand is consuming his valuable creative energy(!) in constructing his own tracks soon to be uploaded, while on the dj side of things, he is resident at bar Stoa along with Walter in a fresh project called:
'' fresh salad minority''
hosted every Tuesday, concerning the underground listening and dance experience.
