Biography:
Griff started his DJ's carreer at the age of 12,
in 1998. From this year he has learnt keyboard
instruments, particularly on synthesizer.
His carreer started in the high school when he organised
several party for students. His demand for different musical trends was continously
growing.
In the age of 16 he took an exam at the OSZK, in Budapest, so he became the
youngest disc jockey in Hungary. After the examination, with some luck, he got
to know Kühl Tamás who helped the young DJ with several vinyl and
useful advice. In this year he got into the Juno Dance Club, the club of high
standard in Miskolc, and in October he has allready been a resident. By this
time his work could be characterised by two styles. He dealt with hip-hop music,
therefore he got to know several star DJ from this genre. Besides he had a chance
to endear the electronic music to the local audiance.
In 2003 he managed to secede from Miskolc and he was
invited to Eger and Tiszaújváros.
2004 was a determining year in Griff's carreer.
After an invitation to an open-air party, he had decided to break with other
styles and he have started to concentrate on electronic music. Besides working
as a DJ, he started to work as a producer too. Some of his recorded mix were
played by an internet radio.
The year of 2005 meant a huge advance for a young DJ.
He got an invitation to several clubs in Hungary, among the other to the legendary
Highlander Music Hall (Sárospatak) and Bank Dance Hall (Budapest).Thanks
to this he could work with some foreign star DJ, for instance Misjah (NL), Felipe
(A), and Brenda Russel (UK). At the beginning of the year he also got an invitation
to a radio in Miskolc as a disc jockey. Since then he has been amusing the audiance
with his special music. He had a chance to play on the Juice truck at the first
Miskolc Parade, where he warmed-up thousands of people's feeling. In the
first half of the year he founded his label and project the Technology Karma
Recordings, in which he reveals his producer abilities. He set up a small home
studio to achieve his aim. In line with this he has started a live act production
with his brother...
The year 2006 surpassed all the expectations for Griff’s carreer. The young disc jockey entertained the audience in the Kashmir Underground, one of the most popular club of Budapest, early in March. He has been working on his party series, the Karma Nights, since February. From that time onward, he organised them mounthly with his friend, Peet Bovszky. They chose the university RockWell Klub as the scene of Karma Nights from the end of March. Griff takes part on the parties not only as a main organiser but also as a resident dj. They organised their parties 7 times till August which had a success and caused a great stir. Moreover Griff tought talented young djs and provided them an opportunity to play on Karma Nights. Last mounths of summer were a real challenge for Griff who proved as an organiser and a manager too. He played for more than 3000 people on the first Hungarian Techno Festival which was organised in Budapest. After it, Griff could celebrate his first opportunity to play abroad. The location was the Bali Dance Club which is one of the most famous club in Serbia. He played here also for more than 3000 people with the two star dj, Cave from Norvegia and Ortin Cam from Belgium who were booked by Griff. On the last day of the week, he was invited to a mixing competition as a jury. Following this, he played in the Nádas Disco (Gergelyiugornya), the RockWell Cafe (Miskolc), and the Carib Club (Hajdunánás). He set up his own truck for the second Miskolc Parade under the TechFest’s colour and took part in this as a dj too. Griff also organised the offical after party of the truck and the parade too and invited Budai who is one of the leader techno dj in Hungary. He travelled to Slovakia on the next day because he was invited to the Free Summer Festival where he could play with more than 30 foreigner djs for tousands of people. In autumn, Karma Nights were organised 3 times in the Hotel Juno, but after it they returned to the university RockWell Klub. In the main time, he booked the norvegian Cave for the Júlia Centrál (Nagyhalász). Parties, organised in November and December, were well-recieved in his hometown, Miskolc. The year was closed by an exclucive Karma New Year Party. In 2006, many of his studio and live mixes were recorded. His offical web site became available in English. He created his own web page on the myspace.com which is well-known among foreign djs. In November, his studio mix called “A New Hope†was played by three web radio. In 2006, he took an opportunity to prove that he is a good organiser, manager and, last but not least, a dj.
