Steve Agelakos

Steve started playing guitar at the age of 14 which now a days would be considered a late start. He initially got the bug a few years earlier after hearing Black Dog by Led Zeppelin. After only 6 months of playing guitar Steve joined a Rush cover band. From there he was asked to join a very popular high school band called the Bloques that covered everything from the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix including some original music. Needing to push the limits of his playing, and his love for Led Zeppelin, Steve put together Black Mountain Side with some friends. They played tribute to Led Zeppelin and took Zeppelins extended live improvisations even further by personalizing some of the material. That band evolved into an all original progressive rock outfit called Tempus Fugit. By this time Steve had developed a small group of followers and began doing small sessions, including an indie album in 1983 by WORDS AND MUSIC, and was giving lessons locally. The Bloques eventually split with Steve and one other member continuing on with a new pop rock band, I.M., that focused on all original material and was still going with Tempus Fugit. The Nineties were spent in a local cover band, Dogman, that covered all of Steve's influences and was a great outfit for extended solo flights and funk/jazz jams. The focus of the band was to play the music they wanted to play, the way they wanted to play it. Instead of playing the popular songs of any given band they went with the ones that even the tribute bands wouldn't do. Currently Steve is playing and writing with Dream Aria and working on a solo acoustic project.
