The Night Shift is a radical new way to experience classical music, brought to you by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
It's been been a great year for The Night Shift. Our first event was held for the first time on 22 May last year and has been going from strength to strength. We've had some encouraging feedback from people who have been enjoying our concerts, so thank you for your support. We have also been nominated and shortlisted for a prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award.
Smashing all previous records we returned with an immense turnout on November 6 this year. Hundreds of people came to enjoy the hugely successful night with an exciting performance of Schubert's unfinished, and the audience vote: the last movement of the Brahms Piano Concerto. It went down with resounding cheers before we went back to the bar for more drinks deals and a
great set from our resident DJs.
The event on the 19th February was hugely successful- the audience (even bigger than last time) throughly enjoyed Robert Levin's interpretations of Mozart's Concerto No.21 and Beethoven's Coriolan Overture. Drinks promotions were greatly appreciated as were the free beers for students! Guest DJs included DJ Martin and Horses Brawl.
Our concert on the 28 April featured the phenomenal young conductor Robin Ticciati. Even though we had to change the programme at the last minute and bring in two guest performers, Claire Rutter & Stephen Gadd, the audience enjoyed Haydn's Symphony No. 60 and extracts from Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. DJ Nick Luscombe provided a great end to the evening with his set.
Thanks to everyone who came to our last Night Shift of the season- it was great to see so many of you!
