For love: Music! I love a wide variety of genres and styles of music and sonic experience.
I strongly believe that everyone should have the means and opportunity to be invovled in making music with others, and be encouraged to do so as early as possible. The power of music as a force for change should not be underestimated!
I'm lucky enough to spend lots of time at the Barbican, listening to the LSO :)
For money: I write code, mainly Perl, PHP and SQL in an attempt to make computers useful.
I play electric double bass, synth, and occasionally theremin, with London band Redzone .
As a teenager, I was lucky enough to play double bass (and bass guitar) in a number of Bands and Orchestras, including: East Sussex Youth Orchestra, East Sussex String Chamber Orchestra, Sussex Concert Orchestra, Bexhill Big Band, Hastings Youth Jazz Orchestra, Brunel University Orchestra and Hastings Area Youth Symphony Orchestra.
I also had the opportunity to play with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as part of a project for young instrumental students, as well as play at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of a project organised in association with the London Sinfonietta ; amazing experiences which I will never forget!
