The Primaries

It's all about relationships.

About Me

ModMySpace Profile CustomizerOne day in choir Nick Bailey was wearing a blue shirt and his friend, John, was wearing a red shirt. Zac Barnett was sitting next to John and said, "Hey, if I had a yellow shirt on we could be in a band!" To which Nick replied, "Yeah, and we could call ourselves The Primaries, because of the primary colors!""Yeah, and I could play guitar and sing!""Yeah, and I could play keyboard and sax and sing, too!""Yeah...""Yeah...""...Why don't we do it?"Zac and Nick kicked John out of the band right away and asked friend Ben Peterson to play drums. And with that, The Primaries were formed. The band started practicing immediately, writing three of their current songs during their first practice. After a couple of months, they released a three song EP to a packed audience at their first show in their high school union. Since then, The Primaries have played such venues as The Twin Cities Underground, The Hopkins Depot, The Red Sea Club, and The Quest, also recording a six song CD in Zac's basement. A very versitile band, they have also played acoustic shows in small coffee houses. A career highlight was in February 2005, when they were picked as one of 12 bands to compete to be the Minneapolis Hard Rock's house band in the first ever Cafe Clash. After a year away at college (the drummer and guitarist both attending Berklee College of Music), The Primaries are reforming to do some serious rocking, recruiting friend Dan Curme to play bass. With a bigger sound and a stronger ambition, The Primaries are working hard to take their music to the next level.
