Formed as a three-piece in the summer of 2005, Flights quickly became a local sensation with their unique, captivating sound composed of only piano, guitar and drums. The band’s first professional production, the Coppola EP, was released in July 2006. The trio enjoyed their rising success, playing a variety of venues located throughout Wisconsin and a self-produced tour that hit the Midwestern states.
During the summer of 2006, Flights added bass to their music, welcoming Ian Pierson to the band. With most of the band wishing to relocate, Flights decided in fall of 2006 that their future would be best suited with a short stay in Boston, MA and then moving to Chicago, IL. The band has planned their move to be shortly after the summer of 2007.
Wanting a fresh start with the coming move, the change in members, and the recent change in style, the band changed their name from Coppola to Flights. Flights have garnered attention from fans and press alike because of their frenzied live show and epic, emotionally-driven music.
The growth demonstrated by this young band is incredible. With just over a year of being together (geographically), they've played nearly 50 shows and are about to release their 2nd EP.
Flights expects to make an impressionable start in Boston and further more, Chicago.
