My Interests

The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen.
--Reinhold Niebuhr

THE JUDGE ---------
Sadly, we are critiqued,
By the people that we know.
By title or occupation,
And by the possessions that we show.
We judge by skin color,
Or by awards received.
By church denomination
And by what we believe.
We're judged by what we spend,
Or by what we give.
We're judged by age and gender,
And by where we live.
We're judged by our past,
And by our education,
By the language that we speak,
Or by our nation.
We evaluate cosmetically.
We judge both fat and small.
We judge by ones appearance.
Fact is, we judge it all!
Some judge because they're paid to.
Some judge intentionally.
Some judge to build self worth,
Some unwillingly.
BEWARE, for there is only One,
Who evaluates every stain and smudge.
Good luck amateur critics of humanity,
When you face that Judge!

Poverty tells children "You don't matter." See how Compassion helps refute the lie to nurture every aspect of a child - physically, socially, economically and spiritually.

I'd like to meet:

Our reason for being here is simple: To offer encouragement and provide support to those who struggle with self-defeating behaviors. Many of us can agree with Paul who wrote, “ I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” (Rom. 7:24). But take heart! "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one (Jesus Christ) who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-- yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." (Hebrews 4:15-16). God understands our feelings. Therefore, He can be touched with our pain and is ready to heal us.

Music:

We prefer to listen to contemporary Christian music ...so that in everything, He might have the supremacy. (Colossians 1:18b) We also appreciate the fact that the lyrics are uplifting and full of encouragement.

the challenge every man faces… the fight every man can win
From the television to the Internet, print media to videos, men are constantly faced with the assault of sensual images. It is impossible to avoid such temptations... but, thankfully, not impossible to rise above them. Shattering the perception that men are unable to control their thought lives and roving eyes, Every Man’s Battle shares the stories of dozens who have escaped the trap of sexual immorality and presents a practical, detailed plan for any man who desires sexual purity... perfect for men who have fallen in the past, those who want to remain strong today, and all who want to overcome temptation in the future.
Male sexual purity is not only critical to sexual oneness, it is an essential component of spiritual and emotional wholeness. Husbands who desire to achieve true intimacy in marriage will appreciate Every Man’s Battle, which provides a practical, detailed plan for pursuing sexual integrity, one of the crucial elements in winning the heart of a woman. Includes a special section for women, designed to help them understand and support the men they love.
Your sexual needs are far different from your man's
And they may be more dangerous

When does an affair begin? Not with the first forbidden touch...but with the first forbidden thought. Unexpectedly, you find yourself enjoying a powerful emotional bond with another man. You feel like you matter to someone again. And the door you thought was locked so firmly-the door to sexual infidelity-is suddenly ajar. The only way women can survive the intense struggle for sexual integrity is by guarding not just your body, but your mind and heart as well. Every Woman's Battle can help you learn to do that. Using real-life stories and examples from her own struggle, Shannon Ethridge helps women like you... whether married, engaged, or planning to marry someday.
The first step in winning the struggle for sexual integrity is to wake up to the battle raging in your heart and mind. Every Woman’s Battle will help you take that step... and lead you on a lifelong path to true joy and fulfillment.
