The Streets has been going for 7 years, i think. I've made 3 albums (almost 4 now) and they are....
ORIGINAL PIRATE MATERIAL
This was an album of rapping that was more like talking, about being young over kind of indie garage beats. It was different at the time because it was so normal and not glamorous in any way. It got me a lot of respect at the time and really allowed me to chase my dreams, which I'd dreamed of doing all my life, which is what Im still able to be doing, if that makes sense.
A GRAND DONT COME FOR FREE
This was a concept album about a young man trying to make it in the world, trying to find something or someone to depend on. It featured my biggest hit, Dry Your Eyes, and was quite down tempo and darker sounding than previous stuff
THE HARDEST WAY TO MAKE AN EASY LIVING
This is my most recent album and is kind of a story again, but it's the story of how I kind of lost it for a bit . It's very easy to do this after selling millions of records. It featured the song I am most proud of, and most likely to always be most proud of - Never Went To Church - even though Paul McCartney decided he wanted a share of the money.
THE 4TH ALBUM.
I am working on this at the moment but don't know what it will be called. The biggest song on it, so far, is called 'Everything Is Borrowed'. I know the title sounds like a Kaiser Chiefs song but I promise it will be better than that. This album started off life as parables but then I realised that it might get a bit cheesy so I got rid of the alien song and the devil song and replaced them with more straight up songs. I've pretty much kept my promise that I made to myself not to reference modern life on any of them though which is hard to do and keep things personal at the same time. I am working very very hard
THE BEATS AND BEAT STEVIE
I also ran a business called the Beats, which was a record label but it died. Before it died it had a daughter called Beat Stevie which was its internet tv show. I am hoping to expand the TV show until it is the biggest of its kind in the UK - I have to say, as far as I know, we are the only one of its kind in the UK which would mean we are already the biggest.
