From an early age, it could be seen that the talent E.Entsir had was not something to be looked past. His late grandmother was so sure of the skills he had, that she told his parents never to deny him of music. So when E.Entsir’s father bought him his first keyboard (at the age of 6), it could be said that that’s when the star in him began to emerge. As the years went by E.Entsir started to write poetry, and slowly the poetry turned into simple verses, and slowly the simple verses turned into complete songs. The more he wrote, the better he got. Over the years E.Entsir has written more than a fair share of songs. But he hasn’t always been a singer/rapper.
Starting off as a school MC in the genre of grime (an evolution or sub creation of garage); E.Entsir wrote lyrics that stood out. When many were busy writing pointless lines of rhymes, he found it his place to always try and make sure his verses had a meaning.
A turning point in his Mc’ing was when he was introduced to Dirty Ca$h (Of And Wot Crew). Ca$h (himself a well known MC) spent time with E.Entsir, developing his natural talent and helping him to be at ease with the music. Also the introduction of Izzy Serious (Another well known MC, and older brother of Ca$h), opened doors to studio sessions, radio slots and much more dedicated time to the writing of lyrics. Eventually E.Entsir reached a level both brothers were satisfied with and began to undertake new projects.
It wasn’t until the start of his university term (Sept 2007) that E.Entsir started taking singing seriously. Although he had been known through his high school days to have possessed a decent singing voice, E.Entsir always brushed that side of his music to the side. Luckily a moment of inspiration captured him and he began writing R&B songs. His singing side has recently claimed plenty of fans; even some from genre’s not usually associated with R&B ? and his rapping skills are not to be doubted. It seems as well as Mc’ing and Singing, E.Entsir completes it by adding rapping to his stable of talents. Those of you who have heard “Crowds Like Ay!â€, “Always On a Roll†and “We’re Gonna Ball Tonight†should know his rapping is far above the average standard.
How many artists do you know that produce their own beats? not many right? well add Mr Entsir to the list. As well as being talented lyrically, he also produces beats of different genres. Take the song "Suffering" for instance, yes E.Entsir produced that. When asked he simply said "sometimes you get a moment of inspiration where only you as the artist knows exactly what the beat should sound like. I guess i take that task on board to make sure im always satisfied". With this being said though, E.Entsir also works closely with producers Jay Weathers (of Alliance Records), Muzz (Of Muzz Productions), Blauw Beats and Ride productions.
Recent exposures include a review by American music magazine “Fueled By Musicâ€. Head onto www.fueledbymusicpromotions.com to see the review. E.Entsir was also chosen by BBC 1Xtra’s Ras Kwame to have his song played on the Homegrown show. A chance only 3 selected unsigned artists receives. The show was available for podcast download after it aired.
E.Entsir is clearly a cut above your average 19 year old music artist. Day by day he receives praise and acknowledgment for his work. Recently signed by Alliance Records his goal to show the world his talent is getting closer and closer. Your support in the coming months will undoubtedly be appreciated, and with the world at the tip of E.Entsir’s tongue, who knows what the future has in stall for him.
