So I'm the lead singer for the band Doctor Salty. We are based out of Minnesota and I hate the cold! We write our own stuff and play enough covers to do a full 4 hour night in any club. We like to play blues based hard rock ... not the over-produced shit that you so often hear on the radio. There is some good stuff out there right now but I think the only reason that the big rock bands from the 60s, 70s, & early 80s are still selling out arenas is that none of the new bands around are capable of putting that type of show or selling that many tickets in a series of cities.
I love listening to all types of music. I grew up listening to talk radio in the car with my dad, but after buying my first album - the soundtrack to The Big Chill - I soon became a fan of the Motown era. I loved, and still love, listening to The Temptations and Smokey Robinson. My musical tastes slowly moved from Motown to Stevie Wonder to the blues. For awhile, all I like listening to was classic blues. I got into everything from Muddy Waters to Junior Wells to Buddy Guy to Stevie Ray Vaughn and BB King. From the blues it was easy to transition into what a lot of people would now consider classic rock/metal - ACDC, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, KISS, Skid Row, etc.
I love Rock and I love Blues.
