Mark Linskey & the Streetcorner Matadors

When we have nowhere else to turn - we have music

About Me

This is Mark Linskey's new endeavor. Not as fast or hard as the Hudson Falcons, but the same intensity, integrity and passion. Influences are taken from all over the musical map - Springsteen, Tom Waits, Frank Sinatra, Dion, Steve Earle, Van Morrison, the Stones, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Southside Johnny, Jesse Malin, Marah, and so many more. Not trying to reinvent the wheel, just play rock 'n' roll with a little honesty, something that is sorely lacking in music today. Hoping to hit he road soon.
"The End of the Road" was released on May 15, 2007. The record was co-produced by Mark and Mark Reiter of Northern Virginia fame and legend. He was the drummer for the Daycare Swindlers. and lent his skill to the drumming on the record as well. Mike Shotton, also formerly of the Daycare Swindlers, sits in on bass for a few songs. Last, but not least, Frankie and Kelly McGrath from one of the best and most honest bands out today - Maybe Pete, do some singin, guitar and mandolin playing.
We'll put a few different album tracks up on this page for people to hear before the record hits the street. We'll also put up some brand new stuff that Mark's been working on. Write to us and let us know what you think. See ya on the road.
