PIERRE HELLIO Drummer of the year 2005 at London College of Music and Media(LCMM), Drumtech and Thames Valley UniversityUK : 07 868.732.967 [email protected] to play rock as most other teenagers do, his brother had a big influence on him and become FUNK ADDICTED. But he loves mixing jazz, funk, rock, reggae, Latin and African rhythms but as a young musician he was influenced by hip-hop and drum&bass. In France Pierre studied at the Agostini Drum School, at The Conservatoire Nationale Music School( Jazz Section) and with Greg Bondo.At the moment, Pierre is playing as much as he can, continuing meeting people and other musicians. "Funky Pierre" is one of the leader of Batusamba Collective, he is working with Anna Bengo and recorded and EP in November 06, with the "Indie soul Movment" and with "Groove factor" a rock'n roll covers band. For a year, he was drummer of the house band of Aesthetic Sounds (soul hip hop) who organised monthly event in central London. Pierre joined Christian Fontana (Ubiquity records), Femi 4qua, and recorded an album with Mezclapura. Pierre also played some brazilian music @ Virgin Megastore (Oxford St) in London with Rafael Gales, some jazz with Blue Cats @ Jazz After Dark in Soho and some percussion with Batusamba Collective @ Shepherd's Bush Empire, Notting Hill Arts Club, POP, West 14....Pierre is also teaching music, drums and percussion in Schools and organise some workshop for kids and adult. Recently Pierre joined ESP COLLECTIVE ( 9 piece jazz-soul-funk band), played some African Jazz at "Le Baiser Salé" one of the best jazz club of Paris and played with a percussion ensemble for the semi final of the Heineken Rugby European Cup.
