About "Little Bit Of Sunshine"
The Vibe Bar really is becoming a top venue for aspiring artists. I co-run L.B.O.S. with a great percussionist friend of mine by the name of Sean Quinn (Drumheads) as well as Mr Asher Storm (Rockstone Zed) and it's of course a musician's evening run by musicians. We have speakers, bass subs, mics, monitors and D.I. boxes as well as a brilliant soundman - Paul Lowe who's been doing it for 15 years or so and you are always guaranteed a fantastic sound. It is very important that you have a good sound as not only is it vital for your promotion but also the for the listeners, for L.B.O.S. and for the Vibe Bar.
The "vibe" in the Vibe is great and everyone who's played always wants to come back. We have a wide range of music to offer on our evening; Jazz, Funk, Rock, Blues, Soul, R&B, Singer/songwriter, Reggae, Folk, Folk-Rock and world.
The evening is free to come in and I also pay all acts a little cash as a thank you gesture as well as give each performer a couple of beers. I despise venues/promoters who exploit artists by charging money on the door yet the artists get nothing from it as well as no beverages. Each performer gets a 30min set with duo's & more - 45 mins. The evening is not an open mic night as I personally invite artists down to play. The quality of musicianship is exceptionally high and I have to refuse some artists which I really don't like doing but have to. I've been inundated with cd's as well as myspace requests to come and play. I'm fully booked up by at least five months in advance. However please contact me regarding a gig as I will be opening up more "Little Bit Of Sunshine" nights around London to help artists.
I do help promote artists outside of my evening by passing their details onto other promoters, websites and DJ's.
P.S. I have to say that I have a lot of applications for the evening but due to the High standard of the night as it is NOT an open mic, I have to turn away artists. Please do not be offended as quality comes with time and practice and even though I may not book you to play, I'm not saying you're bad, just not quite ready yet.
I have lots of friend request so if you find I have not accepted you please be patient as I view every profile first and as you can imagine it takes quite a bit of time.
