Happy New Year

About Me

No Mindedness

No mindedness is not a blank mind that excludes all emotions; nor is it simply callousness and quietness of mind. Although quietude and calmness are necessary, it is the "non-graspiness" of the mind that mainly constitutes the principle of no-mindedness. A gung fu man employs his mind as a mirror - it grasps nothing, yet it refuses nothing; it receives but it does not keep.

No mind are a four-piece indie rock band with an integrity and musical pedigree that demand you take them seriously....... oh forget it here's the real story....
No Mind represents the joining of three very powerful sources. Voice, Rhythm and Beat. The Voice comes in the form of Brett Watterson. Liverpudlian born and bred, Brett fell in with the “wrong crowd” at an early age and after spending two years at her majesty’s pleasure he headed to London to find his fortune (which came at a good time as he had to escape some of his tracksuited acquaintances).
After many years working in some of London’s finest fast food establishments, it came to pass that Brett met The Beat, Olly Wilkinson, in an unfortunate hamburger choking incident which left Olly with no use of his left eye. This wind-filled giant of a boy, also hailing from the shores of the Mersey, had for the last 5 years been building a career as a participant in clinical drug trials and had recently found himself mysteriously in London with no recollection of how he got there. The incident cemented a bond between the two who realized that they had much more in common than most and after a brief stint as rent boys (which gave them the money to buy their first guitar and drum kit) began their musical journey together.
At this time the only thing missing to complete the newly formed band was The Rhythm. Ian Grant slapped and popped onto the scene in the nick of time after fleeing the underground boxing scene in South Africa which saw him almost lose his life in a nasty cock fighting incident gone wrong. With this final piece in place, No Mind unfurled.
Peace.
