Yes we can....

About Me

I was born and bred in the East End of London, which probably explains my life long passion for West Ham United Football Club. The first game I went to see at Upton Park was against Wolves in the spring of 1970. My earliest memory of West Ham is the 3-1 win against Man Utd at Hillsborough in the 1964 FA Cup semi final, perhaps because the papers were predicting a Man U v Preston Cup Final at the time. Ronnie Boyce's winning goal in that 1964 FA Cup Final is also etched in my brain as his parents were family friends at the time. My first visit to Wembley was the 1975 FA Cup Final. I missed Alan Taylor's 2nd goal though as I was still celebrating his first at the time he scored it! I was behind the goal where Bobby Zamora scored the winner in our last Cardiff Play Off final...f*ck was that 7 minutes injury time the longest ever!
Like all West Ham supporters who had the privelege to see him play on a regular basis, Bobby Moore was always legendary to me. I remember buying a Slazenger golfing jumper at his sports shop in Green Street one time and when i went to pay he came out and served me. I was speechless, but Bobby just smiled and got on with the business!
Music has also been a passion of mine all of my life. It started off with The Beatles and The Stones in the mid 60s, to Progressive Rock (Led Zep, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Bowie, etc) in the early 70s, the Jazz Funk & Soul scene in the late 70s/early 80s, up until now where I listen to anything and everthing. I especially like to see the great bands of the 70s - The Stones, The Eagles, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Genesis, et al doing all their old stuff. The best gig I've been to has to be Led Zeppelin at the Alexandra Palace, December 1972. Jimmy Page was excellent that night!

Carlos Tevez came to my mind just now, probably bc of the ManU-Spurs FA Cup game this afternoon. People say he kept us up last year. He did! But is wasn't his goal scoring ability - Bobby Zamora finis...
