Sparrow Falls

Sparrow Falls was formed in the last months of 2005 by vocalist/lyricist Merijn Verhees and guitarist/songwriter Ed van Hees. From their home base Maastricht, the Netherlands, they quickly completed their line-up with longtime friend and guitarist Lando van Berlo, Eds brother Jan-Willem on bass guitar, which recently has been replaced by Boris Wouters (Ex. Right Direction, Hometrust) and the relatively new, yet amazing, Youri Linskens on drums. Although Sparrow Falls might be a rather new outfit, its members are by no means inexperienced. All have played in various hardcore, punk, metal and rock bands for over a decade and all this musical expertise is literally pulled together in Sparrow Falls. Sparrow Falls music can therefore not simply be described as hardcore, punk, rock or the like. Whereas most guitar bands usually commit themselves to one style only, these guys do not limit themselves to any musical style whatsoever. Call it eclectic, name it diversity: Sparrow Falls delivers a mix between dramatic rock, punkrock, oldschool hardcore and hardrock, played straight from the heart. Exactly this blend can be heard on their self titled EP which the band recorded with producer Igor Wouters (Angel Crew, Backfire!). Not accidentally, these songs were released in September 2006, the same month the band started wrecking stages. After a lengthy time of preparation, Sparrow Falls is now ready to sail the storm. The ship has left the harbour. Be part of its journey.
