In 2004 Femke and Femke start their search for 2 new bandmates, to complete their band. After an extensive search they find Niena and Lonneke. Both of them are already playing in another band called Throwing Tomatones. TT plays politically engaged punkmusic, and they are doing quite well in 2004. The 4 girls haven’t met at that time, but they are e-mailing eachother frequently. The Femkes decide to visit one of TT’s shows in the Fenix in Sittard. They are immediately impressed by Lonneke’s and Niena’s playing abilities.
They decide in rehearsing one time, and after that rehearsal the four girls all have to admit that this new band could have some potential. They start rehearsing fanatically on a weekly basis in Maastricht. On the 22th of februari 2005 they finally agree on a name for their band: Siren is what they are going to call themselves from that moment onward.
Unfortunately TT has fallen apart early 2005, but because of this, Niena and Lonneke get more time for Siren.
The band has created a very own style, which is formed by all kinds of musical influences: oldschool hardcore, punk and a little bit of everything.In april 2006 the girls played their first show in the Dynamo in Eindhoven. The show was a succes and since then Siren has played multiple venues, such as Waterfront Rotterdam, Dynamo for a second time, Muziekcafe Kerkrade, Oefenbunker Landgraaf and more. They have shared the stage with Moment of Truth, With Pride, Cheap Thrills (DE), Better off, Said and Done, Human Demise and more.
