JaPetto

JaPetto (Jason Kempston) was born in a small town in Southwestern Ontario. Growing up in an area heavily dominated by country music, JaPetto took a lot of heat for his interests in Hip Hop and house music. As a kid, JaPetto often found himself in front of the CD player moving from one track to another trying to select good, party rocking beats. This continued on into University where he met two brothers who had a pair of technics and a mixer set up in their dorm room. And, it was at that university in Detroit where a passion for being a DJ was discovered. From there, it was an investment in a Numark battle pack that really got things going. However, a good job offer later and JaPetto found in himself in downtown Toronto working for a mutual fund company and his time deviated from the decks. Torn between a career in business and a career as a DJ, Japetto soon realized what made the most sense. So, he said good bye to Toronto and headed out west to Golden, BC packing nothing more than some clothes, records, and decks. From there, it's been countless hours of practice and continuous searches for solid beats. And, the payoff has been excellent. Japetto was fortunate enough to go on a winter tour that saw him play nights in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. JaPetto sees himself on the brink of breaking through as a heavy hitter and knows that his love for music and his commmitment to improving will bring him to stages he only used to dream of playing.
