About Me

Hello. I am Ryan, and as a person I am officially in my late twenties. I am married (page deleted per witness protection program request), I have a kitty, a high school diploma from a public school in New Jersey, an unused community college diploma, an unused mixology certificate (I can make one hell of a Long Island Iced Tea), 1000 DVDs (and counting), and some other stuff you probably don't care about. I like to walk a fine line between responsibility (good job, steward of the environment, bills, voting) and irresponsibility (watching too many movies, playing video games, reading comics, drinking beer, being a smartass), and use parenthesis way too much. Currently, I fuel my addiction to collecting DVDs and drinking exotic rums by working with a company that builds websites for lawyers and markets them on the world wide web.
Hello. I am Ryan Midnight, and as a film geek, I basically eat, drink, breathe, and dream about cinema. I have managed a Blockbuster and a Saturday Matinee, helped run an online DVD retailer, sold DVDs at horror conventions, and have even done a little acting. You'll have to beg if you want to know the title, but I assure you it is available on Amazon.
But my main passion is being a movie reviewer and commentator, and keeping my small but dedicated fan base up to date on cinematic happenings. Some of my early movie reviews and film essays have been printed in the giant film compendium The Scarecrow Movie Guide . My reviews can also be found in the biannual publication of Screem Magazine . However, most of my effort is spent on writing for some of the best damn movie review and entertainment websites on the internet, where i focus on the seedier side of cinema including horror, exploitation, and martial arts adventure. You can find my current and archived reviews on the uber-cool Geeks Of Doom and at The DVD Lounge . In the past I have written for the incredible Gorezone , the indecipherable DVDivas and the now defunct Cujou .
All of my reviews are archived on my flagship website Movies At Midnight and are also republished right here on MySpace. Below are a sampling of the reviews currently available to read and comment on. You'll find a little bit of everything here. If you like what you see, be sure to subscribe so you can keep up to date on my postings.
