I am experimental artist Justynn Tyme; and like a blacksmith I forge my unique brand of creations. My unique perspective derives from several elements in my personalities. None of which are normally found together in nature. Using my buddhist comprehension, cultivating sense of humor and absurdist outlook coupled with abnormal social idiosyncrasies, and strong creative drive creates a strange but amusing style of story telling. Using these base elements of: dadaism, absurdism, humor, buddhism, and a robust insanity. I temper bite-sized pieces that explode, even in the most rigid of imaginations.
I am performer first and fore most and its hard not to sound like one after awhile. You become your personality. So bare with me if this sounds contrived; its isn't... I am a dutch / scottish descendant living in Delaware. You know that gravy stain under Pennsylvania, New Jersey and oozing next to Maryland. I'm a partially anti-social dadaist, absurdist, buddhist, hermit with a great many passions and talents which I fully explore. I live, breathe, and eat creativity. I don't re-act well to the fallacy of reality and definitely a champion of the idiosyncratic lifestyle.
I have been publicly active since 1990; starting with the Whimsical Icebox; an absurdist comedy group. We entertained the public for 15 years and online users for 9 years with our absurdist humor. Then between the years of 2002 - 2004 as I moved concurrently with the whimsical icebox. I began concentrating on absurdist story telling and experimental writing. Which many have been featured on and in a number popular websites & publications. I began the dada yow in 2004 in order to reach out to others in my new genre. Then, in 2005 I decided to continue on as a solo artist concentrating on experimental arts, texts and music.
My only goal is to amuse and confuse - no ulterior motives. For me, dada is energy, inspiration and the return to a youthful imagination where there are no rules or regulations. Both imperfection and perfection are of equal beauty and weight. There is a freedom in experimental art that I am totally addicted too. I am free to move toward any extreme. I have three main mediums that I work in regularly. Illustration: primarily a form of cartooning that resembles more a type of illustrated paintings then cartoon strips. Soundplays: this is a form of sound architecture. Creating pieces out of everything but traditional music. Absurdist Stories and Dada Text: while I still frequently return to my absurdist roots I write three times as many dada texts. I also work with junk and found art and photography and just about anything that catches my interest.
