pam pam!
This EP shows 7 tracks from a 3 year project I have been working on (it has around 16 tracks). The complete album can be seen as an alternative soundtrack to the (already alternative) one of Fritz Lang's Metropolis. It's full of symphonic string and brass arrangements, turntablism, fancy guitar&bass licks and weird drum programming.
I hope you dig the sound. Share it with your friends and loved ones!

Haris Durakovic, who wasted his childhood recording several albums for his
metal/rock/emo band-projects versus Niklas Klügel, who wasted his youth with
opensource hacking and several jazz/punk/classical music-projects.
we have both been involved in the karhu project and this one album for 2.4 years. and since we both put our whole spare-time into it, we have now more material than for a single cd-album. 40GiB of _recorded_ material ... guitars ... turntables ... basses ... doublebasses ... weird flea-market stuff ... lot's of fancy synth patches and shit like that. each song has -in average- taken 52 hours of work. we came to the conclusion, that'd be better to strip parts of the extravaganza and make a 74 mins 16 track album.
the name: "sinfonia for the blunt sword". it's like listening to orchestral harmony, spiced up with canorous insanity being cut up by mad, staggering, noisy beats while a M1 tank makes a backflip-roll, lands on your neighbor's SUV and gives the finger to cliches and genre-thinking.
yes, we are political. what's the use of giving up your speech?
so when will it be done? i know duke nukem forever hasn't been released yet - but we will manage to have our part of work finished by end of august 2007.
stay tuned, so we can crush your stereo.
love,
karhu
