About Me

The Unfolding Opium Poppy, 06Cherry-Tate Music Productions - Monster.com video "Daybreak"________Rebecca Cherry has had a varied and exciting beginning to her career. She grew up in a musical family who encouraged her talents, starting the violin at the age of 4. Rebecca nurtured her love of classical, jazz, rock and ethnic music throughout her childhood and teenage years singing, playing several instruments, and now writes and performs her own music. She has gone on to have the beginnings of a major career as a violinist and multifaceted musician, changing the face of the “modern violinist” with her new solo, and group projects.Rebecca started playing with bands during her years at Music Conservatory, recognizing that her love for jazz and rock music could be utilized on the violin without giving up her passion for classical music. New projects include Her Self titled rock EP due out in 2008, an art film and a short story, "The Golden Rose" based on lyrics from her music. “The complete Victrola Sessions”, for violin, piano, video and live processing. “Music for Juilette,” Electronics paired with strings, percussion and keyboards. Her first classical CD “Remembrances” was released in February 2005. Other works written by David Soldier are released on Mulatta Records found at www.mulatta.org including "Chamber Music" top pick for 2007 from the New York Times. A new partnership was formed in late 2007 with Terressa Tate, forming Cherry-Tate Music Productions, www.cherrytatemusic.com focusing on works for Commercials and Film. Their first collaboration is for Monster.com, which began airing on January 1, 2008. Please visit www.myspace.com/cherrytatemusicproductionsRecently, Ms. Cherry has been collaborating and starring in, “The Compleat Victrola Sessions," a work for black and white, silent feature film, and solo violin. "A surreal live theater piece transporting the audience to a different time and place neither in the past nor in the present, which “builds from dark, plaintive introspection to a level of searing passion” (New York Times). Filming was completed spring of 2008 in New York and L.A. with film maker, Jennifer Reeves and Director, Winsome Brown. Production for the live production commences Spring 2009.Currently, Rebecca Cherry is touring with the Jonas Brothers for their current "Burning Up" tour, summer 2008. MyGen Profile Generator
