We created this page to give our fans what they wanted and thats substance, consistency and pure reality. Dead Poet is more than a group. The movement consists of 17th Dimension, Smooth Elements, Warchild, and Jay aka Josh. Each member sought to bring forth righteous values, visual lyrics, and echo musical harmony into the minds, bodies, and souls of the the hip-hop community. During 17th Dimension and Warchild's meeting in 2002, they learned of each other's strong passion for writing poetry, art and producing beats. Smooth Elements and Jay were close friends and hip-hop fans who would later complete the movement. After graduating from Frederick Douglass High in 2005, the movement didn't officially come together until the summer of 2006. Dead Poet found a place to record tracks in Jay's basement, which drove them to recording early tracks to see how each member meshed together. After working with each other musically for a couple of years, Dead Poet is ready to put together an official album in late 2008, which we strive to bring diversity and meaning back to the shallow-minded music scene in the DMV area.
