RapsodeeP. . .
. . . frontman/emcee for the OR based Hip-hop crew ALLIANCE as well as little known hip-hop duo and production team GOOFRU. Having written with the Alliance for the last 9-10 yrs Rapsodee P. (a.k.a. Rapsodeep) has gained recognition as a "veteran lyricist. . . with no resemblance to the inflections (of) a new jack MC." - Eugene Weekly. Collaborating with G Force (producer/emcee and other member of Alliance) as well as DJ Celsius the three man team is commanding respect through out the Northwest. Alliance dropped their first release "The Theory of Natural Selection" in early 2006. Since then the group has been performing around Oregon with the likes of Tre Hardson, Zion I, Lyrics Born as well as plenty of other local talent including G Force's bohemian dub group Medium Troy.
Most recently Rapso released another album with his group Alliance Crew entitled "Dont Know How To Exist". This album was created in a matter of weeks. Having started the album in early April, and finishing the material with in less time than expected, it was officially released on May 24th 2008, at the 'Get Your Ass Off the Couch' event sponsered by BTM Records.
This album was created around G_Force's well known soulful chops but has a slightly different vibe then his others projects, found in the dichotomoy between his knocky drums and soft synth melodies. As usual G_Force and Rapsodee P. spit back in forth with stylized wit and seasoned chemistry. Backing the two, as always, the renown Dj Celsius mans the turntables with a distinctly clean and unique style, lacing up syncronized scratch chorus and skillful solos. Also appearing on the album are a couple BTM regulars you might expect, such as Knox and Efekt. But some things the album offers you might not of expected are guest appearances by Rochelle Hunter (of Girl Meets Gravity) on Galaxy Trip, and guest producitons by 5th Sequence and Goofru.
