*Buffalo, New York native Dave Schmeidler got his first guitar on his tenth birthday; impressed by the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show, obsessed with the idea of playing music himself. After two years of formal lessons he branched out on his own, learning, practicing and listening incessantly. At age fourteen Dave began playing in various bands, developing his writing and improvisational skills. Soon he began to hone his formidable guitar chops at numerous local venues including schools, churches and nightclubs. In addition to performing and composing music, he became interested in recording; first with tape recorders, then with computers.
In 1986 Dave attended the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California, studying with numerous world-renowned musicians including Jennifer Batten, Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale and Paul Gilbert, graduating with honors. Returning home, he began working with a local music retailer as a highly respected teacher, sales representative and technician, building an international reputation. Dave was also busy writing, recording and performing with various bands like Maya, Blue Steel, Electroman, Pipe Creek Blues Band, The Kate Engler Band and many more. For four years Dave ran a jazz open mike and performed with Groovitate, playing jazz standards. Dave has performed with the Stringed Edition Guitar Ensemble in local schools as part of the Buffalo Niagara Guitar Festival in educational programs, as well as greeting arrivals musically at the local airport! No style of music is safe from him, though his mark is distinctive.
The urge to complete a project of solo material drew Dave headfirst into the world of computers. Dave learned hardware and software basically by himself to a level of working technical support, and now computer restoration and repair. This skill enabled Dave to complete his first solo release “Skyrats-Scraps†in 2001, receiving international acclaim. Dave is completing the follow up in his home studio, “hadasoundâ€. As result of countless live performances and cutting edge recordings Dave was awarded "Best Original Guitarist" at the 2001 Buffalo Music Awards. He was nominated 3 consecutive years for "Best Blues Guitarist "; in 2005 he was nominated for "Best Rock Guitarist".
He continues to maintain a steady performing schedule with groups such as Gamalon, Skyrats, Waildogs, Stringed Edition and of course Stone Row.
Dave’s continually evolving style constantly promises more new and exciting adventures in sound. .

“it was the balance of the soulful melodies, aggressive guitar work, and selective tonal voicings that really captured my attention. the music can be described as highly developed instrumentalism based around advanced, evolved rock and blues stylisms primarily, but also pulling in other influences such as jazz and fusion. This is all then packaged within some very provocative and intricate arrangements.â€

“It has passion and a depth which instantly transported me into his blend of blues and jazz rock. Dave's thoughtful and tasteful guitar work seemed to flow yet soar and dive and at times brutalise some of his compositions. He certainly creates magical moments that tended to flow from one track to the other which kept me transfixed till the album was over, I didn't even remember the gaps between the tracks.â€

“I'd say he has more of an old-school approach to his style,
which reminds me of a few different players from the seventies such as: Jeff Beck, Tommy Bolin, Ray Gomez or Ronnie Montrose. I'd have to call this cd a fun listen, music that is not going to annoy you with run of mill shred guitar or mindless aggresive play. Schmeidler has a vision of what he wants to convey through his music, and the view stretches beyond simply playing, he writes with a passion for music of lasting value. Something you might remember from those other old school players.â€
