AbstractLogix.com: The Center of the New Musical Universe

About Me

AbstractLogix was launched by Souvik Dutta as a non-commercial music site in 2002. Its only driving force was Souvik's love of all types of music. In 2003, Dutta decided he wanted to become more a part of the music scene he so admired. With the well wishes and assistance from many of the musicians, business people and new friends he had met over the previous year, Souvik created the AbstractLogix commercial entity in 2003. Since then, the site has offered a truly eclectic selection of CDs, DVDs, books and services that has made it one of the fastest growing commercial music sites on the Internet. In 2004, AbstractLogix signed distribution and retail agreement to promote John McLaughlin's Revolutionary Guitar Instruction DVD called This is the Way I Do it for the Americas and Japan after providing on site Merchandising during the Remember Shakti tour in Fall 2003.In 2005, AbstractLogix entered the music book business by publishing the critically acclaimed Girls Don't Like Real Jazz by Walter Kolosky. In 2006, it published the much awaited new work from Kolosky, Power, Passion and Beauty - The Story of the Legendary Mahavishnu Orchestra. The same year it signed Jimmy Herring, Greg Osby and Jeff Sipe and released Project Z - Lincoln Memorial .In 2006, AbstractLogix.com formed AbstractLogix Books and Records to better promote exclusive distribution and production agreements it has signed with such worldwide artists as John McLaughlin, Jimmy Herring and many others. Many other great musicians will soon be joining the roster. In 2006, AbstractLogix Books and Records also signed guitarist Alex Machacek. His new record, [SIC] was released in July. This brilliant outing featured Frank Zappa alumnus Terry Bozzio along with Mario Lackner and Sumitra.Souvik is very grateful for all of the support he has received from musicians, friends and especially his customers. He believes in offering the most diverse product selection possible and also takes pride in conducting business in an ethical manner. It is AbstractLogix's love of music, and respect for musicians and fans, that will continue to fuel its success. Abstract Logix Books and Music Upcoming Releases (2007)
