I have been a professional guitarist, bass guitarist, arranger, orchestrator, composer, and musical director since leaving college. As well as my own projects I have worked with other artists such as Phil Watts , Mark Rattray, with whom I toured for a couple of years and did summer seasons alongside Jaqcui Scott and Melanie Stace, Rox Clayton Scott , and Shaun Williamson. With Rox, along with drummer Marcus Bishop and guitarist Dave patrick , we have been writing and recording an album over the last couple of years, which is now available from Rox's own page and also for download from itunes, entitled 'This Is What I meant To Say'.
Also work in an acoustic duo with Rox. Played bass on Dave Sinclair's album, and also on Don Mescall's 'Fuel For The Fire' EP.
I am currently Toyah Willcox's musical director and guitarist and can be seen on the live 'Wild Essence' DVD. Check the official Toyah myspace page for upcoming shows. I also work with Toyah in The Humans along with REM's Bill Rieflin. We hope to release our recently recorded album later this year.
Alongside band work I work extensively in theatre. I have conducted numerous shows including productions of West Side Story, Kismet, Annie Get Your Gun, The Sound Of Music, Godspell, Guys And Dolls and Sweet Charity. Currently I work as Musical Director for one of the country's premier Pantomimes, in which I have worked with Shelia Ferguson, Martine McCutcheon, Shaun WIlliamson, Daniel McPhearson, Jack Ryder, Ryan Maloney, Dave Willetts, John Altman and Ben Nicholas to name but a few.
As Musical Director for 'Dave Lee's Happy Holidays' , a childrens charity based in Kent, I have worked alongside many names from the world of variety, Brian Conley, Joe Pasquale, Gerard Kenny amongst others. Most recently, alongside shows with Toyah, I played guitar for a brief UK tour with Al Martino, and have just returned from a brief tour in Estonia with The Humans
I have been interested in jazz/funk/rock from a very early age and I would hope my own pieces from my recently completed solo album 'The Edible Suite' reflect all those influences. As a guitarist my heroes include such musicians as Pat Metheney, Larry Carlton, Joe Pass, Pat Travers, Steve Lukather, Frank Dunnery, Alan Holdsworth, Robert Fripp, Wes Montgomery - the list goes on and on! 'The Edible Suite' has been around on paper for some 20 years and only now do I have the technical knowhow to attempt recording it myself. It was very much a labour of love.
