With music in his blood, ambition and a rare talent, this African powerhouse aims to create and forge his own individual style on the heady world of the dance DJ. Right from the start he took the music industry by the horns and has successfully managed to make a name for himself.
Hours of practice and some interesting experiences attempting to stage his own parties gave him an insight into the highs and lows of being a professional DJ.
His first public performance saw him as a guest at Derek “The Bandits,†(a well known South African Radio personality) Republic party. Slightly raw but eager he left his mark and was offered a residency at one of the original “All weekend†clubs in Johannesburg called Sunnyside Up.
He is now, at the age of 23, one of the top resident DJs at South Africa ’s most successful club, ESP.
Identified as having something out of the ordinary, the management of ESP have invested heavily in James and his international career, initiating a DJ exchange with other clubs around the world and so far he has proven his worth to audiences at a number of prestigious clubs and events on the international circuit.
He took part in the 2006 Zurich street parade as part of the South African representation and showed one million people that the southern hemisphere is a force to be reckoned with.
Experience comes in many forms and James has had the honor of playing alongside some of the biggest names in the dance world. He opened for Armin van Buuren during a 2006 South African tour and he frequently plays with such major talent as Brian Cross and 4 Strings (international residents @ ESP themselves).
Whilst In the process of compiling his own CD compilation, he has released his remix of ESP’s anthem – Rush, on Armin Van Buurens, Armada record label. And mixed and produced with Brian Cross the 2006 ESP album. Â
As further proof of his genuine talent and a hunger to succeed he has been accepted as part of the Black Spider DJ Agency and with it a further entrée into the International scene.
Thoroughly “nice†and highly approachable, this gentleman of the decks has created a following of faithful fans eager to loose themselves in his musical magic.
Musical style:
He has the ability to take people on a journey from the deepest, darkest depths of Progressive into the driving beats of Tech and upward to climax in a physical and mental assault on their senses, leaving them screaming for more. It is difficult to categories this style of trance as it is so unique. His ability to flow from track to track in swift fluid motions is masterful; pure performance and the essential ingredients to ensure that James is able to fit just about anywhere in a line up, whether it’s warming up or firing off!
