BIOGRAPHY
Chris Hattingh began his musical journey when he met Andre
Frauenstein in late 2003. With their shared passion for music they formed what
is known today as the Grim Brothers.
Chris had grown up loving electronical music, and with the combined efforts of
himself and Andre they bought their own decks and began not only what was to be
a beginning of a new dawn but a close-net friendship that would prove to be one
of the essential keys that would bring them success.
With flowing talent, Chris embarked on his first gig alongside Andre and their
newcomer, Shane Halcon at Club Submission in early 2005. Since then, the list of
events has grown and so has his love for djing.
He has been seen playing at South Africa’s most sought after clubs such as: ESP,
Submission (where he holds his bi-monthly residency), Teknotribe, G.A.S.S,
Corona Café, DCM, Manic Frenzy and events such as Fu Cha Gathering and the
upcoming event, Turbulance featuring trance star, Sean Tyas.
In such a short time, Chris has pushed the boundaries and with his partners
Andre and Shane, he has played alongside the best that S.A has to offer such as:
James G, DjL, Nick Grater, Gizmo, Dizzy, Speedy, Elevate Crew, but to name a
few, including international djs such as Steve Angello, Sebastion Ingrosso, Joe
Giacomet and Sean Tyas.
With his style ranging from progressive trance to trance and techno he still
incorporates the best of all the electronic genres on the Grim Brothers Radio
Show every Friday night on 95.4 UJ FM. And to add to the already growing list,
he has done mixes for 5FM and Adam White’s Show on the prestigious Ministry of
Sound Radio.
Now he looks forward to the beginning of a whole new avenue, the producing
world.
