It has been said; that it is important to remember where you come from, in order to get the proper perspective on where you are going.
With the music scene saturated with talented artists it is very difficult to break into it, but with hunger to get his music out there bursting inside him, born and raised in South Africa, Andre Frauenstein decided to start DJ'ing at a very young age and it didn't stop there.
In early 2003 Andre Frauenstein and Chris Hattingh joined forces and started a group called the Grim Brothers. Since then they've experimented with different genres of dance music and in 2005, they welcomed Shane Halcon to their team.
From word-of-mouth events held at FHM Magazine parties, and Space Ibiza Party's at Clubland District, he reveled in the spirit of adventure, which encapsulated an entire generation of South African youth culture.
As an ordinary young man being recognized at a young age for doing extraordinary things, Andre quickly moved into top South African clubs, GASS, Evolution, D.C.M, Submission and Natural Groove to name but a few, and because of all this hard work, he has been given residency at the top South African event, Teknotribe, where he educates South Africa today in Hard Techno music. Solidifying his reputations for stellar play with several successful gigs, Andre is now known as the leading Hard Techno DJ in South Africa.
What punctuates Andre Frauenstein's skills as a DJ and producing is his capacity to not only incorporate diverse genres and styles, but to transcend them by infusing his music with pure emotion and loyalty, and therefore he decides to build a career around music not only by DJ'ing and producing, but to use his imagination around a day job. Working for Cut & Paste Studio's, Andre composes and produces alongside Alun Richards, tracks for known Ad's such as, Audi A3 'Sportsback', LG Mobile 'Scratch phone', ABSA 'Mega U', Sprite 'Zero', BMW 'Kinetic' Andre also scored films alongside Alun, such as 'Tau Ya Soweto', 'Dollars and White Pipes', 'Number 10', to name but a few.
For Andre, music is his first love, and what gives him a buzz is being able to share his music with the world and because of his relentless hard work and promotions he attracted interest from some of the biggest names in International Dance Music, and have played at events with artists such as Marco V, Rachel Auburn, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Voodoo & Serano, Mark EG, Andy Whitby, Chris Liberator, Phil Reynolds, and Billy Daniel Bunter to name but a few.
Grim Brothers weekly Dance Radio show on 95.4 UJ FM (RSA), might have given rise to a new movement. Like jazz to funk, blues to rock or bass to dance music - traceable to its very last bleep and beat, this dance radio show creates a new and entertaining vibe for South Africa, by keeping the youth up to date with the latest tracks, DJs and clubs.

Since then of course, Andre has gone from DJ to a talented producer. His music being played by the biggest in the Hard Techno scene across the world. His latest tracks being released on International as well as South African labels, and is featured on compilation albums across South Africa!
