Frank Liestam: Vocals, guitars & lapsteel
Frank Liestam born In Stockholm Sweden in 1962, is the lead singer and guitar player in Sthlm cowboys. At the age of thirteen he started playing guitar and a year later he was on tour with he..s first rock band. Frank was touring with different bands and graduated High school in 1980.
Frank had in a few years worked up a reputation in Sweden as a high skilled solid rock guitar player and was touring with Swedish rock artists of means. In 1982 Frank had two choices, a career as a navy officer in the Swedish royal navy or to keep building his music career. Well, to let go of the guitar playing at this point was something that just couldn..t be done so he took his guitar and hit the road again and he quotes, ..I never looked back...
Since then Frank has been recording records, appearing on various TV shows, touring and playing with many major Swedish and international rock artists, such as Magnus Lindberg, Pugh Rogefeldt, Magnus Uggla, Peter Jezewski (The Boppers), Eddie Medusa, Billy Bremner (Rockpile), Duane Loken (Wolfpaw In Macahans), Little Gerhard, to mention a few.
Frank today is a showman with sharp edged Twangy guitar playing and a singing that naturally captures the spirit of rock & roll. Together with Sthlm Cowboys he creates a true force of uncomplicated high energy rock & roll.
Werner Theunissen: Bass & vocals
Werner Theunissen is the bass player in Sthlm Cowboys, born in Holland and raised in Sweden. Werner started early on playing and singing in different bands.
At the age of 18, he started working professionally as a bass player. Werner has played a variety of music styles through out the years such as rock, funk, r n´b, jazz, hard rock, hip-hop and blues. He has been touring, recording and performing with Swedish and international artists such as Elvis Presleys band members Scotty Moore, DJ Fontana, Pugh Rogefeldt, New York based rapper Grand Master Funk, Kee Marcello from the group Europe and many more.
He got his first record deal in 1983 and recorded the first rap single with Swedish lyrics Kool Katt (Cool Cat) as a bandleader with the Swedish rap-disco-funk group STOP. The song was a minor hit in Scandinavia.
In 1989 he started his own band W.T.B (Werner Theunissen Band) in which Werner was the lead singer and bass player. This band was touring in Europe and Scandinavia performing their own shows and acting as a backup band for artists.
He has also been composing music for various TV shows and doing commercial voice-overs.
Benna Sörman: Drums & vocals
Benna Sörman born in Stockholm Sweden, joined his first band at the age of 12. He was influenced by Cream and his elder brother Adde, who was the singer and drummer in a rock band in 1965. Benna played in various bands during the 70: ies and in 1978 the band Strix Q was formed and they got a record contract at CBS Records. The band recorded four albums between 1978 and 1983 and toured all over Scandinavia and did a lot of Swedish TV shows, with great success.
The band was dissolved in 1983 and Benna soon became one of Swedens most appreciated session drummers. He spent his days on the road, backing some of Sweden..s best singers and performers, doing sessions and banging the drums in several Swedish TV shows, which gave him the opportunity to work with Secret Service, Elvis Costello and Jose Feliciano, among others.
Benna did several tours with the Swedish cult rocker, guitarist, songwriter and singer Pugh Rogefeldt from 2000 to 2005 including support act for Per Gessle and his band Gyllene Tider in the summer 2004. This tour wrote history by during only 22 gigs having the largest audience in Scandinavia ever: 500.000 people! Pugh and X-Brain did there show in front of 60.000 people at Ullevi in Gothenburg.
Benna met Werner during the time they worked with Pugh and he introduced him to Franks project Sthlm Cowboys. The three of them got together and Benna and Werner joined Sthlm Cowboys in mars 2005.
