Some of Sweden’s most experienced metal musicians have assembled to spread metal to the people. That’s the mission of mighty Poodles from Sweden. “We want to make people great and powerful. In a world full of powerful people, cowardice and lies does not exist” says Jakob, lead singer of The Poodles.
The album “Metal Will Stand Tall” was already released in Sweden & Finland in may 2006 and has topped the swedish sales-charts, until now the record already reached gold status in their home country. The debut single “Night Of Passion” went gold in Sweden after just three weeks and has now sold platinum! It was also the most downloaded song for three weeks in a row! The second single from the debut album was the title track “Metal Will Stand Tall”. It features guest vocals of Tess, member of the disco group Alcazar, who sings in the duet with Jakob and is also featured in the videoclip. It entered the single chart at number two one week after release and after a month this single also went gold!
Finally the band has signed a deal for the rest of Europe with AFM Records, with a release date on January, 19th 2007. Same time the band will go on their first European tour along with their labelmates from Krokus and the Swedish templars of steel from HammerFall.
The Poodles are more than just a normal rock act. During the years the members have worked in different contexts with international celebrities like Mot..rhead, Whitesnake, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy and swedish colleagues like Europe and Candlemass. The album features songs by some of the most well known songwriters in the world such as Holly Knight (Tina Turner, Aerosmith, Kiss etc) and others. Each of the members were part of different acts like Talisman, Midnights Sun, Lion’s Share or Zan Clan. The band has existed for a few years doing quite a bit of touring. In the fall of 2005 the current line-up was completed and in the spring of 2006 The Poodles competed in the Swedish version of the „Eurovision Song Contest“, with very good results.
Now a new chapter has begun and The Poodles will start their worldwide domination. Listen to hymns like „Night Of Passion“, „Echoes From The Past“ or „Metal Will Stand Tall“ and you will be addicted by their unique spirit. This is Hard Rock how it should sound like in 2007; fresh, catchy and with enough balls to kick anyones ass. If their future career goes in the same way like the ones of other acts with animal names, such as Whitesnake, Scorpions or The Beatles, then we can expect something really huge! „Metal Will Stand Tall“ keeps everything! „This is the best record of the last years from Scandinavia, which is known for their great music“, says the german „Rock it“ magazines and gave the album the highest rate with 10 / 10 points.
