Allow me to introduce myself. I'm a man of wealth and taste.

Well, not so much wealth, actually.

My name is Sergio Martorelli. I´m a journalist, editor of DVD TOTAL/SHOWTIME magazines (here are some of the covers - yes, I know, they're crummy pics, but I'm an EDITOR, not a photographer!).

I'm also owner of the sites The Horror! The Horror! , Off the Press, Up To Date and Adult World News .

If you´re an artist in need of some exposure, just drop me a line at [email protected]. I'll help you for free. Free DVDs, CDs, books and comics, of course! (Hey, at least is WAYYYYY cheaper than the payola you have to pay to get your stuff featured on Wizard, Fangoria, MTV, big radio stations and the like).

Here's where you can send your stuff:

Sergio Martorelli, ed
Rua Afonso Pena, 165 casa 5
Rio de Janeiro - Brazil
CEP 20270-241

BTW, this is my business profile. I have another one JUST for friends. Feel free to add http://www.myspace.com/sergiomartorelli . But if you're not my friend, don't even try. That's sole domain of the Commando Elite (a term that I stole from SMALL SOLDIERS, sue me Joe Dante!).

Oh, one last thing: If you don't plan to add me as a friend, just DENY MY REQUEST, DAMMIT! Hit "deny", I'll erase you from the list and promptly forget your face, arse or whatever else you're showing on your probably fake profile picture. I already have a pretty long queue of Pending Friends Requests, and some of 'em are way more interesting than you. So there.

My Interests

Music, movies, books, comic books. If it´s not boring, I´m in. I also love money. Yes, above anything else.

I'd like to meet:

Frank Zappa (but I can wait!), Captain Beefheart a.k.a Don Van Vliet, Wild Man Fischer, Peter Gabriel, Peter Hammill and many, many more. I like to hear stories.

Oh, and hot girls.

Actually, Indie artists with something to say, but hot girls are welcome as well. Why not? I'm just like any other chauvinistic pig.

Music:

Frank Zappa, Gabriel-Era Genesis, Cream, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Triumvirat, Judas Priest and Van Der Graaf Generator - among MILLIONS of other bands that I won´t be listing here for two reasons: 1) I'm lazy; 2) I don't want to. (*SIGH*) Okay, okay, I'm going to list some NEW bands I like: Cavalar, Wolfmother, Wicked Minds, The Phase and Black Bonzo. Satisfied now?

"Information is not knowledge
Knowledge is not wisdom
Wisdom is not truth
Truth is not beauty
Beauty is not love
Love is not music
Music is THE BEST..." (Frank Zappa)

No, Heavy Metal is NOT the best kind of music of the planet - got it?

Movies:

Lots. No, really, when I say "lots" I REALLY mean LOTS. The list is too damn long, but I´ll name twenty: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Sunset Boulevard, Shaolin Soccer, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the original Godzilla, the original King Kong, El Mariachi, Brazil, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ben-Hur, The Godfather, Darkman, Tod Browning's Freaks, Profondo Rosso, Psycho, Dungeons & Dragons, Day of the Dead, Monty Python's The Life of Brian and Almost Famous.

Yeah, I know, that´s only nineteen movies. Actually, I hate all those "Top" lists.

Television:

Meh. First of all, TV sucks ass. And don't try to defend it by listing some over-hyped series that sooner or later will jump the shark anyway. So there. Secondly, DVD killed the TV star. Why suffer reruns and commercial breaks when I can watch an entire season on DVD? *sigh* Okay, I'm liking HEROES right now.

Books:

I used to be a great reader. Stephen King, Kurt Vonnegut, Stefano Benni, Harlan Ellison, Douglas Adams, Robert Sheckley, H.P. Lovecraft - and the list goes on and on and on. Now, I barely have time to read. Even comic books. Last thing I´ve read was Warren Ellis' "Ultimate Galactus" (some nice ideas, but the reimagined Gah-Lak-Tus concept sucked ass) plus some cool Brian K. Vaughan stuff. And more stuff I don't remember right now nor I'm in the mood to do so.

Heroes:

I don´t have heroes. I just sorta kinda respect people who achieve something by having talent and working it hard. And yes, that includes pornstars. They work it harder than we can even start to conceive. They also have no talent to go mainstream, but that's another story.

...Okay, I like Superman as well.
