Alison McAree also known as Max is a 28-year-old singer/songwriter hailing from Dublin, Ireland. Having gotten her first guitar at age 13, she began songwriting in the comfort of her room and singing at the odd social gathering. She started gigging around her local scene at age 14 and recorded her first demo on an old 4 track in a mates attic when she was 16.
She attended renowned Ballyfermot Rock School in Dublin to train as a Sound Engineer and performed backing vocals as a favour for fellow students. She started playing the International Bar on a regular basis where most of Irelands well-known artists kick started their careers. She was spotted by Treasure Island Management who signed her up for a number of high profile gigs such as Heineken Green Energy. She featured on Bis: Songs and Voices of Ireland, which was released in 1997. She is a well-established performer who has played alongside the likes of Luka Bloom, Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Mundy, Paddy Casey and Damien Dempsey.
Now living in the UK, she continues to draw upon her Irish influences and experiences, which can clearly be heard in her style of music and songwriting. She is currently recording her debut album and it can be said that this is definitely the calm before the storm. Watch this space.
