Sundown

Prague here we come!!

About Me

Founded in late 2002, Sundown have played every venue in Newcastle and are currently taking their unique fusion of rock, funk, and pop to audiences in the North East and beyond.

Having supported upcoming bands such as Laika Dog, Ian Wills and the Willing, and Star 27, Sundown are starting to make an impact on a larger scale. The boys are planning to tour Poland and the Czech Republic later this year as part of a band exchange program. Check out ukbands.net and czbands.net or visit their respective myspace pages on our top friends...

We love to include the occasional cover: from Pearl Jam to Aimee Mann, The Lemonheads to the obligatory Beatles classic, modern influences like Chris Cornell and timeless classics such as The Vipers. Take some time and have a listen to our songs, feel free to leave a comment and if you want to book us for a gig, don't hesitate to let us know...

Influences:

Everything! From Evan Dando and The Lemonheads to Led Zeppelin, with a whole load of obvious (The Beatles) to not-so-obvious (Audioslave) too numerous to mention! here's an all too brief summary of what we all like to catch anyone searching for them(!!):

Jellyfish, Spacehog, Matchbox 20, Cream, Soundgarden, Marillion, Pink Floyd, The Doors, John Lennon, Wings, Aerosmith, Jethro Tull, Paul McCartney, Lovin' Spoonful, Traffic, Queensryche, Rush, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Sting and The Police, George Harrison, Spock's Beard, Yes, Lindesfarne, Buddy Guy, Queen, Foo Fighters, Kula Shaker, The Jam, The Rutles, Prince, Velvet Revolver, etc... but anything rocky, bluesy, funky and folky comes under our radar.

Sounds Like:

Sundown! We also share similarities with the following (to varying extents), due to the genre-morphing sounds and styles that make up our unique (but highly listenable!!) sound:

Aerosmith, Audioslave, The Beatles, James Brown (when drunk - us, that is, not him), Cream, Del Amitri, The Doors, ELO, Elvis, Eric Clapton, Evan Dando, The Feeling, Fish, Foo Fighters, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Gomez, Guns and Roses, Buddy Guy, George Harrison, The Jam, Jellyfish, Jethro Tull, Albert King, B.B. King, Kula Shaker, The Lemonheads, John Lennon, Lindersfarne, Lovin' Spoonful, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Prince, Matchbox 20, Marillion, Queen, Queensryche, RATM, The Rolling Stones, The Rutles, Soundgarden, Spacehog, Spock's Beard, Stevie Wonder, Sting and The Police, Supertramp, Traffic, Velvet Revolver, Rush, The Waterboys, Wings, and Yes.

There's many more (far too many to mention here) so if any of the above light your fire than check us out live and very soon on our website Here .
