Acoustic Circus is a voluntary-run, non-profit making organisation which exists to promote and encourage singer/songwriters in the North East by any means we can. Every month, we put on a gig to provide a platform for the best new talent in the region. We allow the songs and musicians to shine by stripping to the bare bones of acoustic instruments. The result is a raw, honest sound for each performer.
We have found the result to be a consistently brilliant gig with an excellent atmosphere, outstanding music and a great night for audiences and performers alike.
We began Acoustic Circus in February 2001 out of an ambition to showcase the abundance of new musical talent in Tyneside. This is a night where anyone with talent, commitment and a desire to share their music can find a great audience and the opportunity to be heard.
With this mission plan in mind, Acoustic Circus has gone from strength to strength. We not only introduce new musicians, but also support well-established performers across the North East, who in turn encourage the project. This means that over the years, audiences and press have come to regard us as the gig for new talent in the area.
