~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A rising star in disguise, CandeeBunn aka KrissTina was born in Toronto descending from a Ghanaian/Lebanese, Christian/Muslim background.
Growing up, CBKT carried a noticeable maturity and individuality, expressing herself best through music, and writing poetry. Through her many trials and tribulations, CBKT managed to stay positive in a life of negativity, becoming a unique individual to reckon with.
Since childhood CBKT would involve herself in everything from music to athletics, continually coming in first place, receiving awards, to performing in many talent shows and winning completions.
By the age of 14, she had appeared on BT, CTV, CFTO, and B Zone, where she was nominated for a YTV achievement award.
On a personal level, CBKT seems like a very shy, quiet, reserved young lady, but her raw rhymes best describe her to the tee, letting you know where she's been and exactly where she's coming from.
Not to mention dressing up and playing Mass, CBKT grasped every opportunity to express her passion for the Arts.
Being the youngest in a all girl dance group, she truly was able to shine, performing routines of Afro Caribbean and Step Dancing in multiple festivals around the city. From simply having fun mocking videos to expanding and choreographing in showcases.
By 16, CBKT was successful in having her poetry published in Dexterity Magazine, and already was in her second rap group, which consisted of family and friends where she finally found serenity.
Being recognized and making frequent radio appearances, CBKT quickly improved her style of rhyming, showing ambition and a committed persistence in the deep emotional topics she chose.
Being the only female in the group, CBKT felt motivated to aim higher and work twice as hard to stand her ground by properly representing women to prove she had skills.
Taking the back seat, she spent most of her time in the studio learning the fundamentals of recording & the engineering process.
Today CBKT has evolved into a modern woman of her stature, upholding everything she stands for, from Spitting a rhyme, reciting Spoken Word, or having a locked down Dance routine. CBKT has demonstrated creativity in all aspects, finally coming out of shell in a liberation of herself and representation of her people.Yall Check Out
