Band Members: Pete Marriot + Janet Douglas. Stu B (another cloudy day).LYRICS - Down to my heart and upstream are Petes lyrics. Then we adapted these in melody. The other songs are combined lyrics of us both.GUITAR/BASS/GENERAL COMPOSITION- Pete. VOCALS- Janet. BACKING-Peter.
Influences: Speaking for myself - well, from the beginning it was Tracey Thorn (Everything But The Girl and some with Massive Attack: better things+ protection ) who i was complietely into the sound of.. Amplified Heart and walking wounded albulms are complietely stunning! lyrics are genius too. More recently than these songs; stuff im into is Joan As Police Woman, The doors, portishead again! Fleetwood Mac, The pretenders, Sade! Van morrison, Newton Faulkner, stevie wonder, alot of soul. Always a fan of Amy Winehouse, some joni mitchell, Christine Colllister, Damian rice + definately love Lisa Hannigans voice who sings with him! ok list is a bit lonnng now! ....corrine baily Rae and jazz styles, Annie Lenox, Radiohead, stuff like moprcheeba and chilled dance atmosphere! Ray Lamontagne's Trouble albulm! Turin Brakes, Alex Parks , getting a bit over excited now aren't I....jeff buckley, James Morrisons soulfullness, , Skin, jamiroquai, Al Green,Also acoustic Maroon 5 albulm, KT tunstall (particularly newer acoustic stuff!) paulo nutini, jill scott, . Errrrm ..influences from a whole range and elements of alot of stuff!!!
---------------And as for me (Peter) everything from ABBA to ZZ Top (though not actually really including either of those culturally iconic groups). This is always the most difficult queston and others are always better placed to say than oneself - in other words a bit of everything. Nightshift (an - they would probably say THE - Oxford Music mag) said that my music sounded like a mixture of Sting and The Lighthouse Family. I'm sure they didn't mean that in a good way but I'd be happy with the record sales of either of those, let alone both of them!
