About Me

Sharon Sullivan’s current CD, Panes of Glass, is a mixture of lush piano melodies and heartfelt lyrics that create an almost nostalgic ‘road back home’ sentiment. Her strong vocal melodies take the listener on a journey of self-discovery and encourage them to stop and listen closely to the feelings we all hide. Sharon’s lyrics remind us to be human and to unabashedly feel lost, alone and sometimes heartbroken by this life. While she exposes her own heartache, however, her optimism and romanticism shine through in a refreshing, uplifted turn. In such songs as “Dap”, “Tailspin” and “Can’t Rip Me Away”, she escorts us from every-day occurrences to an almost enchanted world of extraordinary beauty found among the brokenness we all feel. ”You can’t rip me away, no. Now that I’ve found my way, I’m not gonna falter. You can’t tear me away now. Cause I’ve finally found the way back home.” In the song, “Tailspin”, Sharon reminds us that the best is yet to come and that all we have lost will be returned to us one day.It is her life-long love affair with music that most defines her music style. Her career began as a child, when she performed oboe with her local youth orchestra in Tacoma, WA. Sharon’s love for music took her to Oberlin Conservatory where the lessons she learned and her own person heartache inspired her first piano and vocal songs. While there, she spent countless nights in darkened practice rooms playing and composing new and innovative works. After leaving Oberlin, Sharon began performing her music at local coffee houses and open-mic nights in Tacoma, WA.Throughout her career, Sharon has always managed to inspire and uplift her listeners. Her message is clear, and as she said to the crowd at a recent concert, “When we fall, we find grace in our own mistakes and learn to live more fully each and every day.” So, on Sharon’s CD, Panes of Glass, you will hear her words inspire you and her willingness to bare her soul will remind us to try even when we have nothing left to give.Look for Sharon Sullivan to be performing in the greater Puget Sound area throughout 2006 at various clubs, festivals, fairs, and house concerts.
