The Dandelion Greens

About Me

From Whidbey Island Washington in the great Pacific Northwest... The Dandelion Greens are Pete Keating; singer, guitar, percussion, mandolin, banjo,harmonica- Joe Cook; upright bass, accordion, and vocal harmony- Talia Toni Marcus; fiddle- and Heidi Schuler; accordion and new addition, Tim Dolan on banjo. They have been holed up in Joe's barn for a few months and are now taking their sound to the streets and fields of North America. Using a one man band approach, Pete plays guitar, sings and plays percussion instruments with his feet. When Pete's songs met Joe's slapping bass rhythm, the two veteran musicians knew that they had stumbled upon a unique sound that mixed American and European folk influences with nods towards bluegrass and rockabilly. With the recent addition of world class violinist, Talia Toni Marcus, and accordionist, Heidi Schuler, The Dandelion Greens have become one of the Northwest's foremost original acoustic bands. The Dandelion Greens can perform as either a duo, or as a three to four piece band, and enjoy playing on the street or in the club for anyone who likes toe tapping music that is upbeat but lyrically deep. Pete's songs evoke images of common folk whose trials and tribulations we can all relate to, performed with all acoustic instrumentation allowing the listener to absorb the music and the words. The Dandelion Greens can and will play anywhere acoustically or plugged-in with no change in the instrumentation except when they exchange the "too professional" bass drum and hi-hat for a 5 gallon bucket and tambourine taped to a stick!Recorded at Acoustic Chambers in Kent Washington, The Dandelion Greens now releases their self-titled, full-length album of modern day original roots music.Writing all of their own material, this fourteen song collection of true Americana storytelling is innovative, yet anchored in a sense of familiarity, bringing hearts to pounding and feet to tapping, while managing to disguise a bit of American history and personal mayhem within a field of bluegrass/folkabilly.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
