Richie Reinholdt and The Acousticals

About Me

The AcousticalsFeaturing three of western Montana’s premier bluegrass musicians, playing predominantly original material in the “Acoustic Americana” vein showcasing their fine pickin’ and innovative songwriting............. RICHIE REINHOLDT - Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, Lead & Harmony Vocals. Richie has been a professional musician for nearly 40 years. He spent most of the 70’s touring with the regionally successful “Live Wire Choir”, a newgrass and western swing group. Richie has been a part of the Montana Bluegrass family for many years and has released several solo albums. His most recent recordings are “Talk to the Paw” (2005), “Lies of Love” (2006), "Glory Days" (2007) and "Manic Heart" (2008) and the new release, "The Sound of Her Smile" (2009). Richie is the main singer & songwriter for the group. If you watch carefully, his fingers never leave his hand.........CHAD FADELY - Mandolin. Chad’s tasteful solos have made him one of Western Montana’s most in-demand mandolin players. Currently Chad plays in several bands including "Pinegrass and Leftover Biscuits, and was a founding member of the well known Missoula based band, Long Overdue. Chad’s original tunes can be found on his two recordings; “Mandolin Escapes” (2005) and “The Backroom” (2007)........BRUCE THRELKELD - Acoustic bass, Harmony Vocals. Bruce’s roots can be traced to coffee shops and bars in Florida where he played guitar, and then Texas . In the latter half of that decade, along with Rick Taylor, he drummed and sang with the Atlanta-based band Right as Rain. This band had a successful multi-year run on the “college circuit,” recording two CD’s for the independent label, DB records. He moved to Missoula, Montana, in 1997 and began playing in the Cory Heydon Band, he also began live and studio drum duties over the next 5 years for the Tom Catmull Band, John Floridis, Bob Wire, Richie Reinholdt, Greg Leake, The Kent Curtiss Band, and The Country Kings. He currently plays with several Montana bands including The Bop-a-dips, John Floridis (and his band, Burning River), The Country Kings, Quartet Caribe, and, most recently, The Acousticals.
