How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .
SHAKALAKA
Piper and Briss , the creative force behind
the musical collaboration "shakalaka" met in
L.A , summer 2002 .
Originally from kingston Jamaica , Piper migrated
with his family to the UK when he was 10 .
At the age of sixteen Piper was already a popular figure
" Toasting " at many sound systems on the London Club scene .
Piper is The true " ORIGINAL TOASTER " no contest !
Briss born in Paris , France "world beat capital"
Started his musical career playing and recording percussions
and bass for different afro jazz funk or multi ethnic projects
in Paris .After touring in America for a few years , Briss started
producing and writing for artists in Los Angeles , California .
Briss's strong taste for polyrythms with heavy
percussions and bass oriented grooves makes him
a perfect match for Piper'suncompromising
Talent .
SAFE AND MASSIVE
The first Shakalaka release is a perfect blend of Piper's and Briss's
Musical influences .Coming from all african roots and conscious lyrics .
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH SHAKALAKA NOW ?
" THE LIVIN' " The new release is now ready and should be
available soon !
"SKAKALAKA" Is now playing on the LOS ANGELES local scene and getting
ready for touring in 2007 .
A group of hand picked musicians all coming from world Reggae Jazz and
funk roots .
A horn section and percussion line up , great backing singers and a Kicking
rythm section !
