MACI'S MOBILE nascono nella primavera del 2000 da un gruppo di amici appassionati della musica in levare, il reggae e delle atmosfere solari. La loro musica inizialmente è una miscela di reggae classico, ispirato a gruppi roots della scena giamaicana e non, come Gregory Isaac, Horace Andy, Burning Spear, ecc. e di atmosfere dub, di scuola King Tubby, Lee Perry, Mad Professor, ecc, senza disdegnare la scena italiana di allora, Africa Unite, Almamegretta su tutti. L'ingresso nel 2001 del nuovo cantante Gerard ( Rasta camerunense ) ha dato una svolta internazionale e roots al sound del gruppo. La band si è aperta così verso ritmi più sostenuti, dal rocksteady al raggamuffin, fino al dub minimale. Il 1° maggio 2003, dopo varie apparizioni live, i Macis Mobile fanno uscire il loro primo CD ( 500 copie esaurite in tre mesi, ristampate ed esaurite nuovamente ) ampliando il raggio dazione dei loro live in tutto il nord Italia ed arrivando fino in Puglia per un mini Tour estivo di 5 date, organizzato dal cantante del noto gruppo locale Scamnun. Tra la fine del 2004 ed i primi mesi del 2005 il gruppo entra in sala di registrazione con 9 pezzi inediti, migliorati nel livello compositivo grazie anche allarrivo del nono elemento, il trombettista Diego David.Nellestate 2005 avviene lincontro con quello che diverrà il loro produttore, Dj Afghan, già noto per aver prodotto nomi del calibro di Laurel Aitken e Winston Francis, per non parlare poi dei nostrani CookooMackaStick e Strike. Questa collaborazione porta Dj e gruppo nel dicembre 2005 allEarth Studio di Birmingham in Inghilterra dove lo stesso Afghan realizza il mixaggio delle nuove tracce a quattro mani con il vecchio amico Mr. Dicky. Negli studi di Birmingham, inoltre, sono nate le collaborazioni con due protagonisti della scena reggae inglese, Yaz Alexander e Ras Mosiah (Delroy Daley), i quali hanno partecipato a due featuring nel cd che uscirà a maggio 06 per la BZ Records di Ferrara. Il 2006 già dai primi mesi porta la band a macinare chilometri su e giù per il nord della penisola e, grazie alla collaborazione con lo staff ferrarese de La Baraonda Management che li segue per le date live ed il meticoloso lavoro dellinstancabile amico di lunga data Edbastard, finalmente si intensifica lattività del gruppo fuori dalla provincia bellunese.Tra le varie esperienze del gruppo ci sono le partecipazioni alla compilation Arezzo Wave Veneto 2005, alla compilation di High Foundation 05 e l uscita con la rivista Acid Jazz nel numero di febbraio/marzo 06 nella loro compilation allegata con il brano Original Bomb. Le ultime apparizioni più importanti del gruppo sono state al Jumpin Music Club di Vittorio Veneto (Tv) di spalla ai Radici nel Cemento, alla festa del 1° maggio di Preganziol in collaborazione con Radio Base, allHigh Foundation Festival di Ferrara 05 e 06, al Leonkavallo di Milano, al Reggae Festival Respect di Verona, al festival di Radio Fragola 2006 di Trieste, al Rototom Reggae Sunsplash 2006 (showcase area) ed al Rafanass Music Festival 2006 di Rovereto (Tn) di spalla al mitico LUCIANO. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° THE NEW CD TO BE RELEASED IN MAY 2006 FOR BZ RECORDS BY THE REVELATION REGGAE BAND FROM BELLUNO! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° The MACIS MOBILE band was born in spring 2000, made up of a group of friends keen on offbeat music, reggae and sunny atmospheres. Their music is at first a mixture of classical reggae, influenced by roots bands of the Jamaican and other scenes, such as Gregory Isaac, Horace Andy, Burning Spere etc., and of the dub atmospheres of King Tubby, Lee Perry, Mad Professor etc., taking also into account the Italian scene of the time, Africa Unite and Almanegretta above all. The arrival of the new singer Gerard (a Cameroonian rasta) in 2001 marks the international and roots turning point of the band, which thus opens towards more sustained rhythms, from rocksteady to raggamuffin, up to minimal dub. In 2003, after several live performances, Macis Mobile release their first CD (500 copies sold out in three months, then reproduced and sold out again), widening their live sphere of activity to all Northern Italy, and reaching also the region of Puglia, in Southern Italy, for a small five-date summer tour organized by the singer of a well-known local band, Scamnun. Between the late 2004 and the early 2005, the band enters a recording studio with nine unpublished pieces, improved in the composition level also thanks to the arrival of the 9th member, the trumpet player Diego David.The latest most important performances of the band have been at the 1st May festival in Preganziol (in the Veneto province of Treviso), in cooperation with Radio Base, at the High Foundation Festival in Ferrara, at the Leonkavallo in Milan, at The Barge in Rimini and at Verona Reggae Festival Respect.In the summer 2005 they meet their future producer, Dj Afghan, already famous for producing names of the calibre of Laurel Aitken and Winston Francis, not to mention the Italian CookooMackaStick and Strike. In December 2005 this cooperation leads Dj and the band to the Earth Studio in Birmingham, England, where Afghan himself makes the mixing of the new tracks together with his old friend Mr. Dickey.In the Birmingham recording studios, besides, other collaborations begin with two protagonists of the English reggae scene, Yaz Alexander and Ras Mosiah (Delroy Daley), who have taken part in two tracks in the CD to be released in May 2006 for BZ Records, Ferrara. Among the different experiences of the band are to be mentioned the involvement in the compilation Arezzo Wave Veneto 2005, in High Foundation 2005 and in the compilation enclosed in last February/March issue of the magazine Acid Jazz, with the piece Original Bomb.
