Local Anaesthetic!

The women cry for it, the men die for it!

About Me

Local Anaesthetic is a zine from the southern state of Australia, focusing on original music in the fair city of Geelong, Victoria.
Started in January 2005, its aim was simple; to give local original artists a medium by which to promote themselves and whatever it is they do. Put together in a matter of mere hours at the start of every month, the 'zine contains interviews, reviews, rants, basic information and other fillers in a black & white A5 format. We are unapologetically politically incorrect, follow an Ed Wood style 'first take is the business' method to publishing (and thus is full of the grammatical errors that zines are famous for), and make no qualms to the fact that LA is put together by a couple of guys with little more than an obsession with music.
Since starting this little publication, others have cropped up in the local area and we support all of them. Zines such as Fried Cat, Going Under and Machines Everywhere are what help people get their opinions out and heard in a medium other than mediocre mainstream media. So if something pisses you off, then tell us. Submissions/music can be sent for print/review to Local Anaesthetic PO Box 7473, Geelong West, Victoria 3218, Australia; or via email to [email protected]
